HOTEL MANAGEMENT PROTEST

Will See Governor Today Over "Ridiculous" Rates

SANCTIONS ON GUESTS

Representations will be made today to the Governor by the 91

foreign and Chinese hotels and boarding houses, protesting against what they described as ridiculous new hotel rates fixed by the Quartering Authority.

Chinese hotels and boarding houses will send a petition this afternoon through the Secretary for Chinese Affairs to Sir Alexander Grantham. A letter, signed by foreign and Chinese hotels and boarding houses has already been sent to the Colonial Secretary,

In this letter, the view is expressed that the action of the Quartering Authority in assessing hotel rates without prior consultation with the hotels and boarding houses was arbitrary, wrong in principle and without precedent in price control matters.

It is also suggested that Removed Bed
