The Social Welfare. Centre in Nathan Road, Kowloon, is a practical demonstration of a few of the many aspects of the wide term “Social Welfare.” Besides the work for babies, the young children and the boys and girls. illustrated here, there is a daily stream of individuals who come with their problems and troubles. About 1,200 people are in- terviewed each month, asking for employment, housing, schooling for children, financial help in illness, and information and advice on a host of personal matters. It is not always possible to fulfib · every request' but every effort is made to do somie- thing constructive for each.
The work hitherto done at the Old City Hall is now moving to the new building in Hospital Road (behind Sai Ying Pun Hospital) where the same organisations hope to join together in a wide service of Family Welfare.
