Britain's import and export values for the month of March this year wore the highest for 27 years and the unfavourable visible trade balanco was largest since September last year, according to the Board of Trade figures issued today. Imports for March totalled £178,200,000 and ex- ports totalled £121,000,000 and re-exports totalled-£6,100,000, giving an unfavourable balance of £51,100,000.

Allowing for price increases since 1938 the volume of ex- ports for the month of March 129 this year is estimated at percent of 1038, which is a re- cord high percentage.
