Sir Brian Robertson, the Military Governor of the British Zone of Germany, has asked Marshal Vassili Sokolovsky the Soviet Commander-in-Chief, for an immediate assurance that he con- demns as strongly as General Robartson the fact that the Soviet aircraft which crashed into a British air liner over Berlin yesterday was being flown without prior notification and “'in a manner to cause the catastrophe".
