London, Mar. 6. Sir Derrick Julias Wernher, 68, WAS found dead today in the garden of Hyde Park's "Millionaires Row" apartment [house in which he maintained
a seventh floor flat.
The police and his head was crushed. Death was apparent- ly due to a fall from the bal- cony in his flat.
Sir Derrick was the son of the labo Sir Julius Wernher, South African financior. was last seen alive at midnight, the police said. Scotland Yard investigated but reports, that so for they have found nothing suspicious about his death.

A join announcement by the U. S. Army and Navy said, today thins a new Navy rocket had reached an altitude of 78 miles and a top speed of 3,000 miles per hour, both new records for American rockets.
The rocket. named "Aerobelle.” was launched at White Sands (N.M.) Proving Grounds,
The test was short of the record 114-tiles altitude and 3,500 miles speed set by the Army in texts with A captured German V-2 rocket, but ic eclipsed the record of 14 miles and 2,100 miles catablished last year by the Army's American-built "WAĆ Corporal."
The new rocket burns liquid fuel, Its size was not disclosed but the announcement said it was designed primarily for the upper atmosphere and could entry 150 lb. of scientific instruments, including a device to measure cosmic rays.-United Fress.
