PROPOSED

ESTIMATES OF EXPENDITURE

Washington, Feb. 7.

The State Department officially announced last night that it will shortly ask Congress for about $570,000,000 for assistance to China and will also seek additional funds for further military aid for Greece and Turkey.

It was simultaneously announced that the United States plans to spend an overall total of $9,333,000,000 in foreign aid to all parts of the world in the 15 months starting on April 1, next. This latter figure includes $6,800,000,000 proposed as the first American contribution to the Marshall Plan.
