REVISED RATION SCHEDULE
The Rice Controller
has announced that a de- finite schedule will be arranged for the ration ing of rice, flour ind sugar commencing from January 1948.
Irrespective of the number of days in a month, each month will be, divided into three periods;-- 1810th; 11th -20th; 8int -the end of the month.
Rice will be issued on the first half of each period, Le, lat to 5th, 11th to 15th, and 21st, to. 25th, and flour on the second, half of the period, ie,, 8th- 10th, 16th — 20th, and 26th to the end of the month.
In time, a bonus issue of rice or flour will be declared to make up any loss by reason of the months having 31 days.
The sugar rationing period for Hong Kong and Kowloon will be fixed on the second period of cach month, 1.0, from 11th to 20th and for New Territories, on the 21st — 30th of each month (Feb. 20).
