Robert Schuman, the Popular Republican fin- ancial expert, tonight obtained a vote of con- fidence to form a Government by a substan- tial majority -by 410 votes against 184 in. the National Assembly. Asking the deputies to give him a vote of con- fidence which would enable him to form a Government for crisis-stricken France. M. Schuman told the Assembly that the work of the Government must be dominated by the overriding consideration of saving the Re- public.
