Echoes To Radar Signals From Moon

Sydney, Nov. 1. Australian scientists have succeeded in sending radar signals to the moon and received echoes at their second attempt this morning.

The algnals were sent from the Radlo Physics Labora. tory Propagation Station at Hornsby outside Sydney to the Australia shortwave station at Shepparton in Victorie, which relayed it to the moon over a distance of 238.000 miles..

Within two and a halt seconds, the Hornsby station re celved brittle and compact radar echoes from the moon which were recorded for 20 minutes.
