Pelping, Sept. 30.

The Government authorities today detained the daughter of an important Kuomintang mem- ber in a new series of arrests keynoted by Mayor Ho Sze-yuan's warning of the existence of a Communist underground. Following the detention of two key figures in Gov- ernor Sun Lien-chung's military administra- tion, the Céntral Government police arrested four Peiping National University students, an unnamed bureau chief of the Peiping Munici pal Council and Mrs. Yuan, daughter of Chen Pu-le, member of the State Council.
