The Minister of Supply, Mr. John Wilmot, told a press conference today that Britain is now building the best medium and short range planes in the world. Overseas buyers are flooding factories with orders.
Strongly defending Britain's aircraft industry, Mr. Wilmot said critics at home were harming the export trade. He said he approved the Government's decision not to buy American "Constellations" and fit them with British en- gines because it would hurt Britain's reputa- tion abroad.
