PALESTINE PARTITION PROBABLE
Geneva, July 28.
The United Nations Commission on Palestine is likely to decide the broad issue of a 'recom- mendation on the future status of the country before examining the detailed evidence, or engaging in further fleld work, a source close to the Commission said today. Consideration of this unusual procedure is said to be due to the conviction of most of the mem- bers that nothing which is not already known will emerge from the evidence, together with a feeling that general discussion will clarify issues sufficiently to allow a broad decision to be made.
If the Commission proceeda on these linea, it is regarded as almost certain that a recom- mendation for the partition of Palestino will : gain ・ majority support.
