Broken

Athens, July 14.

Greek Government Forces were reported here to- night to have broken the belt thrown around the Greco-Albanian border town of Konitza yesterday by 1,000 guerillas, and to have as- sumed the "full initiative."

The official Greek News Agency said the guerillas were thrown across the Borgzani Bridge, six miles away, after a pre-dawn counter-attack, and were then held down by artillery fire. The local Greek Commander was quoted as saying he had sufficient troops to control the situa tion. Some troops had been rushed by air and road.

The Athens newspaper re- ports of the fighting and that about 60 of Konitza's attackers had been captured. A number of these do not speak Greek, the reports said..
