Over $500,000-worth of souvenir and luxury goods which were bought in Hong Kong this week by J. W. Ryssin, U.S. War Department official, will shortly be on their way to Japan for sale to the American and British occupation forces there.

Mr. Ryssin, whose job is to purchase from firms in China the type of goods needed by the 200

equivalent (American Post-Exchange NAAFI) stores in various parts of Japan, pays periodic visits to the Colony, Shanghai and other parts of China. This is his fifth trip to Hong Kong.
