Shanghai, Apr. 30.
Shanghai Jabour, taking into consideration the ar- rival of the end of the month and pay day, has resumed its drive for revival of the monthly cost of living index by submitting petitions to that effect to the Bureau of Social. Affairs, pointing out that the freezing of the index could do little to halt the upward rise of com- modities.
Petitions so far received include a plea by the Newspaper Workers Union, the Cotton Work- ers Union and workers from the Chung Hwa Book Company. These petitions have been forwarded to the Ministry of Social Affairs
