MOSCOW CONFERENCE

ON TREATY FOR GERMANY

(By David Brown)

Moscow, Mar. 8.

A complete news blackout was clamped down on the Soviet press and radio today with only 46 hours to go to the opening here of the world's most important post-war conference - the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers on Monday to discuss the German and Austgian- peace treaties.

Not one of the Moscow morning newspapers car- ried a word about the conference or about Germany or Austria and the radio, usually prolific in world-wide emissions of news and

comment on the future of Germany also gave

the conference a gomplete miss until it report-

ed the arrival of Mr. Ernest Bevin, the British

Foreign Secretary.

Front today's papers des would never know that the con- ferstice was even contemplated let alone almost upon them. There was not even a eference to the city's magnificent preparatione for the delegations.
