UNRRA announced the Chinese Government re-

quested $200,000,000 worth of wheat and cot ton instead of machinery and other materials originally earmarked for China relief. Major- General Lowell Brooks, Director of UNRRA, said the Chinese apparently contemplated selling the grain and cotton in an effort to crack blackmarket prices.
