Britain's yards are producing more than half the world's new ships, and tonnage under con- struction at the end of December, 1946 has not been execeded since March 1922.

Statistics to be issued tomorrow by Lloyds Regis- ter of Shipping, show that in Great Britain and Ireland there is an increase of 62,184 tons in the work in hand at the end of December as compared with the figures for the previous quarter.
