FRENCH PROTEST OVER Economy PETROLEUM AGREEMENT To Truman

Paris, Jan. 9. France has protested to London and Washington against what she considers to be a breach of the terms of the Iraq Petroleum Company agreement by the United States companies, a French Foreign Office spokesman said here today,

The protest follows the granting by King Ibn Saud of oil concessions in Saudi-Arabia to American oil companies which are represent- ed in the Iraq Petroleum Company. The spokesman said that according to the agree ment all oil concessions obtained in the terri- tory of the former Ottoman Empire by any of the groups forming the Iraq Petroleum Com- pany must be shared with the other groups.
