A statement was issued by Government yester- day, giving details of the awards to Hong Kong residents (previously announced) in the New Year's Honours List, as follow:-

Mr. J. H. Ruttonjer was awarded the C.B.E. for his ex- ceptionally courageous und loyalį services during the Japanese Occupation. Early in 1942 he Formed a welfare organization the relief of Indians, for POWs and internees. He was himself arrested in March 1942 for anti-Japanese activities; he was arrested again in October 1943 and sentenced to 5 years' imprisonment for anti-Japanese activities.
