BRITISH ATTITUDE ON FRANCO Mr. Bevin Not Swayed By T.U.C. Resolution

In Position To Judge Better

(By Fraser Wighton)

London, Oct. 26.

The British Government's attitude towards the Franco regime in Spain will not be altered in any way as a result of the four and a half mil- lion votes of the Trades Union Congress, de- manding severance of diplomatic and econo- mic relations with Spain.

This is the view of informed quarters, who say also that the Foreign Secretary, Mr. Ernest Bevin, who leaves England tomorrow for the United Nations and Foreign Ministers meetings will not be swayed in his discussions by the Trades Union Congress resolution.

The British Government has repeatedly aimed its views that a move such as has been proposed by the THC would tend to streng -

Russia Knows She

(By Eddie Gilmore)

Moscow, Oct. 26. Russia is aware that she has enemies not only in many parts of the world that have not been considered friendly but also in certain circles in countries which were her wartime allies. Russia considers the existance of these ene- mies, some of whom are highly articulate, as well as in a position to influence their com- patriots and the policies of their countries, a constant danger.

During my recent visit to the United States I

heard persons, express outright hate of the Soviet Union. They were the people who de- clared that America, now in possession of atomic bombs, should go-ahead and use them on Russia.

The Society said that almost the entire Indian community in- Natal was opposed to having the children take part in the tour ceremonies.

The Natal Indian Congress simultanently stated its inten- tion of ca ng for a total hoy- cutt. of the tour if any effort is made to include Indian children.
