SMART WORK BY POLICE
Extremely smart work by the Police last night resulted in the arrest of three armed robbers, one of whom was wounded, little more than 15 min- utes after the report of a highway hold-up had been telephoned in by the victims.
The victims of the hold-up-- Messrs. M. Y. Hassan and E. M. Ismail--went out for a stroll along Wonguelching Road at about 9.30 p.m. As they near- ed the old Craigengewer Cricket Club, they were stopped by four Chinese, two of whom were armed and who forced them
into a lane Teuling to the alr raid tunnels. Another party of Chinese, apparently belonging to the same jang, stood quietly on the opposite side of the rond.
After relieving the two Indians of $219 Cash, as well as a wrist watch and a gold ring, the robbers
off towards Percival Street maute Hussan and Ismail hurried to the Lily White Cafe, at the functioa of Caun and Leighton Hill Road, and got through to No. 2 Polie Station by phone.

That the trip was exceedingly pleasant and that the arrangements by the captain, officers and crew to make the voyage enjoyable left nothing to be desired, was the opinion express- ed by all the passengers in the Otranto which arrived here yesterday morning from the United Kingdom with the first large batch of Hongkongites to return.
Except for a few days in the Gulf of Aden the trip was very smooth and apart from minor ail- ments the health of the passengers very good. "We have no complaints" said one passenger, "We were very well attended to and every- thing done for us."
