Sappers are making no changes in the team which beat Club 7-3 last Saturday, but Eastern will be making a number of changes in their side.

As changing of players will be permitted. Eastern will be playing both Hsu King-seng and Chang Kam-hoi in the pivotal position iri each period, while Lau Fook- chuen will be seen at inside-right Hau Ching-to. why did not play against Prilice last Sunday, will also be seen in action.

Club will be without Fallace and Eardley, who are on duty, for their friendly soccer game against Sing Tao on the Club ground on Saturday.

Owing to the typhoon on Tues- day, the Football Committee could not meet and 12 players have been requested to attend. All present at the field will have a game and those unable to play are requested to inform V. G. H. Upton, ul Messrs. Butterfield and Swire soon as possible.

CHINA MAIL CUP BOWLS COMPETITION

LAWN BOWLING MEMBERS OF THE VOLUNTEERS HELD A MEETING AT HEADQUARTERS YESTERDAY WHEN ARRANGE- MENTS FOR THE ANNUAL INTER UNIT COMPETITION FOR THE "CHINA MAIL" CUP WERE FINALISED.

It was announced that entries for the competition would close on October 6, the first block of matches being scheduled for

the morning of October 12. Last year. the entries totalled 38, and indica- tions are that this number will be exceeded this year.

Major F. Flippance was elected chairman of the committee in charge of the competition, with Sergt. J. G. Meyer as Hon. Secre- tary and S/Sergt. M. N. Rekusen as Hon. Treasurer. The Committee comprises CQ.M.S Baptista, L/Cpl. A. Bower and a représen- tative from Corps Artillery.

REFEREES' CLASSES,

The sixth lecture on Soccer Laws Nos. 13. and 14, on Free Kicks and Penalty Kicks will again be delivered at Scandal Point Hall on Thursday, 18th instant at 7.p.m.- in order that those who failed to attend the last meeting on account. of the typhoon need not miss the complete series of the lectures All are welcome.
