THE NEW GOVERNOR'S EXPECTATIONS
AIR RAID SIRENS, sounded throughout the Colony, signalled the impending arrival of the new Governor, Sir Mark Young, K.C.M.G., in Hong Kong this morning, and two hours later at 11.25 6.m. His Excel- [lency, while four "planes flew overhead, land-
ed at Queen's Pier.
His Excellency was met by the Hon. Mr. N. L. Smith, acting Governor, and introduced to Members of the Executive and Legislative Councils, the Consular Body, senior officers of the Navy, Army and Air Force, heads of Government Departments, and other leading citizens, before proceeding to Government House.
