BALANCED SOCCER XI

"Referee"

KOWLOON FOOTBALL CLUB WILL START THE NEW SOCCER SEASON FULL OF HOPE AND CONFIDENCE AS THEY WILL HAVE WILLIAM- SON, ONE OF THE BEST PIVOTS IN RECENT YEARS, PLAYING AGAIN AFTER AN INJURY WHICH KEPT HIM OUT OF THE GAME FOR THE MOST PART OF LAST SEASON.

Though Williamson has not completely recovered from his injury, he is confident that his knee will be able to stand the strain, and he was! quite satisfied with the result of a practice game during the week. He has been chosen captain of the side and his experience and personal prowess: should greatly assist Kowloon.

Kowloon have suffered only one loss this season and that is Ulrich, who was injured last season, but they have a number of youngsters, the now defunct mostly from International Club.

Lapsely, who did well in the Lai Wah Cup competition for Civilians, will again be available in goal, while Lamb and C. Mar- ques will be the backs.

They will have a strong intermediate line in Maxwell, Williamson and V. White.

C. Remedios, former Hong Kong and Shanghai Interporter, will be available for any position in the half or full-back line.

Such a defence would do credit to any team, but Kowloon are also fortunate in having a formidable forward line. B. G. Gosano will

be playing when not occupied with cricket, while Blake, who was forced to give up the game two seasons ago owing to injuries, has fully recovered and will be playing again. D. Knox, who was an absentee last season, is also expected to be playing again. All these three forwards have powerful shots and are dan- gerous anywhere near goal.

Jackson and Pereira are the other probable players in the attack.

D. 8. Blake has recovered from injuries sustained two scasons ago and will be seen in
