A PAGE FOR WOMEN Unattractive Wives
Lose Husbands
If a wife allows herself to grow drab and unattractive the chances are her spouse will wander off and be ensnared by a more lovely wo- nan-in the opinion of Dr. James Madison Wood, who is president of Stephens College.
Dr. Wood has done a lot of delv ing into marriage statistics and he has found that the average woman doesn't take as much in- terest In her appearance and manners after marriage as she did before she caught her man! And that accounts for a large percent- age of divorces.
Personally I hope that isn't true. In my opinion, women strive to keep young looking and attrac- tive even against great odds. But it is true that when a woman neglects herself she loses out. She may not lose her husband but she most certainly loses friends and a great big slice of fun.
Husbands, children, and friends like to see a woman lonk her best. You know that is true! We all appreciate beauty, we all want to be beautiful-that is if we are blessed with normal good health. A sick woman becomes Indifferent because she hasn't the energy to groom herself or
plan for free hours in which she might make herself more interesting. While she is ill, she is excused by society, but once she begins to recuperate, society expects her to keep an eye on all the little details which make her more lovely.
