The policy reported that Louth had a number of previous con- victions for larceny.

The police reported that Louth had been in custody since his arrest on Sunday night. When stopped he was unable to produce an identification card.

Louth told the court he knew nothing about the curfew area. He left Hastings about two and a half years ago, and simply came down to visit his children for the holiday.
