H.K. SKATING CLUB STAGE FIRST EXHIBITION BEFORE CROWD OF 2,000
THE 'NEWLY-FORMED HONG KONG SKAT- ING CLUB HELD ITS FIRST PUBLIC EXHIBI- TION AT CIRO SKATING RINK LAST NIGHT
BEFORE A LARGE CROWD.
The programme was a varied and interesting one and gave ample evidence of the hard work and practice that the members had put in for the dis- play.
Interspersed in the programme were several comical acts, most amusing of which was the bull fight. The "bull” slipped twice and had a hind and fore leg broken. The toreador (J. Drewery) also slipped and was' gored.
Owing to spectators encroaching on the rink, the hockey match between Cyclones and the Club had to be postponed to prevent an accident.
Before the show Mr. R. B. Dav. ler, chairman of the club, said that the objects of the club was to fos ter comradeship and good sports- manchip among skaters and to bring to the notice of all the bene.

Long Shot Brings Lead both in First Division of the same
Both sides made numerous efforts to take the lead, and the champions finally succeeded wher their winger Tang Yuk-wu scored with a powerful long shot.
The result of the game was still in doubt as both sides scored al- ternately, but just before the final whistle the champions managed to score the necessary points to give them a 23-22 win and the cham- plonship.

In one paragraph devoted to "Hints an Practice and Play." Hellard states: "By virtue of the more exacting timing necessary in the execution of the drive. I have found it the most difficult of all the shots, and practised accordingly."
