All but one of the opening Open matches down for yester lay were played despite the poor weather the pre icus day and all results were very much as expected, the champion rink, skipped by C. S. Rosselat, had an easy passage against Ward's rink, Omar's strong rink emerged successfully from its test against Recreio rink.

The champions, skipped by C.Y A. Razack S. Rosselet had an easy passage w, Ward at the expense of their club mates under W. Ward. who scored only eight heads. Rosselet leading 10-1 at the fifth, 17-2 at WB Harris the 10th, and 23-8 at the 19th.

G. A. Carruthers, who years ago was one of the keenest 10 tennis playing members of Police R.C., has had to give up the game this Summer owing to the fact that he is now attached to Sha- taukok Police Station and cannot

Another well-known Police sportsman, L. H. Oakley, is at the same Station so that he too has had to cut down on his sport. Oakley, however, has not yet been so much affected in that he only plays cricket and Rugger, and these games are at present 21 out of season.
