AN ADMIRALTY COMMUNIQUE ISSUED IN LONDON LAST NIGHT ANNOUNCED THE LOSS OF THE ANTI - AIRCRAFT CRUISER CALCUTTA AND THE DESTROYERS HERE- WARD AND IMPERIAL DURING THE EVACU- ATION FROM CRETE. HEREWARD WAS LAST SEEN HEADING TOWARDS THE COAST AFTER HAVING BEEN DAMAGED BY ENEMY AIR ATTACK.
