Warnings have been given for over a year to the general public against spitting otherwise than into a spittoon or into a drain or channel for sewage ог waste water. Thousands of posters and notices are displayed throughout forms of the Colony and other publicity will be accorded.

The relevant amendment to the Amendment Summary Offences Ordinance will be enforced grad- ually, only bad offenders being actually charged.
