Dugout Incident In Desert War: Officer's Story
(By Reuter's Special Correspondent in Cairo)
REFERRING TO A GROUP of Germans in
a dug-out on the Libyan border who refused to surrender, as their officer threatened to shoot anybody leaving, a British officer who has just returned from the Sollum area said that only when the German officer was shot did the remainder of the section file out and
surrender.
The officer stated the morale of the Bri- tish troops was very high whereas the Ger- .mans, unaccustomed to the novelty of desert warfare, easily became downhearted, and were lacking in bon cameraderie, especially where their Italian allies are concerned.

Gives The Truth
A widespread organisation is engaged in printing and publish- ing the "Struggle," which gives the Czechs the truth about the situation in the Protectorate, re- ports about the war and regular information about the work of Dr. Benes' Government in Eng- land.
The organisation is SO well organised that preparations have been made to meet any unexpect- ed moves so that publication can never be stopped.
