FEW ARTICLES OF merchandise or raw material are excluded from a list of articles the export of which, from the Colony, is now prohibited, except under licence.

The Order, which covers items from pickled vegetables to ferro-titanium, was is- sued in a Government Gazette Extraordinary this morning by the Controller of Trade, Mr. E. W. Hamilton.

Mr. Matsuoka, the Japanese Foreign Minister, had what is described as "a cor- dial conversation" with Ciano, the Ita- lian Foreign Minister, at the Chigi Palace in Rome at 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon.
