Comprehensive Export Licence System For H.K.
FEW ARTICLES OF merchandise or raw material are excluded from a list of articles the export of which, from the Colony, is now prohibited, except under licence.
The Order, which covers items from pickled vegetables to ferro-titanium, was is- sued in a Government Gazette Extraordinary this morning by the Controller of Trade, Mr. E. W. Hamilton.

Mr. Matsuoka, the Japanese Foreign Minister, had what is described as "a cor- dial conversation" with Ciano, the Ita- lian Foreign Minister, at the Chigi Palace in Rome at 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon. The first application was for 23 barrels of Gum Resin consigned to Messrs. Defag Wabell and Co., Tientsin. Mr. Gould said that the cargo was seized Li on board a British ship which arrived in Hong Kong. He relied on an affidavit from the ship's papers which showed that the cargo was consigned to Defag Wabell and Co., firm on the Black list.
