MEN DIED
SPIRIT THAT IL CRAZED
DUCE WILL NOT CONQUER
(From A Correspondent With The Greek Forces)
AFTER A FIFTY-MILE trip over mountain passes from Albania to Greece in a convoy of am- bulances carrying Greek wounded, I cannot praise highly enough their courage nor the amazing skill of the drivers.
The last stars shone coldly over the white Morava mountains in the Northern sector, when, in the dawn darkness, the wounded were carried froni the forward base to the waiting ambulances.
As they entered the ambulances, each was given bread and cheese and packets of cigarettes.
A typical change here is that the brothel quarter, previously the haunt of the Italians, is at present deserted.
IN HELL AT SEA
Sixteen men in an open boat drifted in an Atlan- tic hell. Man after man died. Two friends, as death came on them, rose and clasped each other. Five men went mad.

Personal Battle
I continuously noted that the Greek soldier seldom expresses hatred of the ordinary Italian soldier, whom he regards merely with contempt, The war is much more a purely personal affair be- tween every Greek soldier and Mussolini.
