THE GERMAN OCCUPATION OF ITALY IS REPORTED IN WASHINGTON TO BE MORE COMPLETE THAN THE OCCUPATION OF BULGARIA.
All Italian harbours are now said to be under German control and the Italian Secret Police is said to be directed by high Gestapo officials.
Consequently, Italy is now regarded in Washington as little more than a province of the Greater Reich.
There is good reason to believe that the German occupation of Italy is the cause of the United States asking Italy to close its consulates at Detroit (Michigan and Newark) and Rhode Island "for reasone of national policy" and to withdraw the personnel thereof from the consulates, which prevents transference of person- net to Italian consulates else- where in the United States.

“It's White Horse, of course- I could tell it blindfold ”
The rare and subtle character of White Horse sets it apart from any other whisky. You can tell it by its exquisite bouquet alone. But it is the perfect blending of fragrance with mell- owness and smoothness which makes White Horse Whisky the equal of a fine liqueur. The millions of gallons of finest Scotch whisky matured and maturing ensure that the quality of White Horse never varies.

Pointing out that the summons against him was wrongly worded, Mr. R. P. Phillips, of No. 13, Hill- wood Road, obtained dismissal of the case from Mr. D. J. N. Ander- son at the Kowloon Magistracy this morning,
Mr. Phillips was summoned for "allowing two dogs to wander in Hillwood Rond at 9 p.m. on Fe- bruary 22 without muzzle or lead."
Sub-Inspector Cunningham, in- tervening, said he had intended to ask for the words "two dogs" and "0 p.m." to be amended to "one dog" and "7 p.m."
The Magistrate suggested that the Police issue a fresh summons. In the same Court, Mr. Kenneth Sayer. of No. 38, Kimberley Road, was fined $5 for allowing his dog abroad without a muzzle or lead.
