AMERICANS FACE UP TO POSSIBILITY OF WAR IN THE PACIFIC

MAJORITY OF well-known American editors and Washington correspondents re- presenting big ́papers, whether their political leanings be Democratic, Republican or Left- ist, are of opinion that the possibility of the United States getting into war is greater in the Pacific than in the Atlantic.

A canvass of opinion among influential newspapermen by a Central News correspon- dent in a trans - continental tour suggests that an American-Japanese war is inevitable the moment Japan launches an attack on Singapore, the Philippines or the Nether- lands East Indies.
