Wild Rumours In Bulgarian Capital
EVENTS WERE MARKING TIME IN SOFIA YESTERDAY. RUMOURS HAD BEEN CIRCU- LATING IN THE BULGARIAN CAPITAL TO THE EFFECT THAT 20 GERMAN DIVISIONS HAD ALREADY ENTERED BULGARIA, OF WHICH 15 WERE HEADING FOR THE TUR- KISH FRONTIER.
These rumours are evidently part of the Nazi war of nerves against the Turks. Mili- tary experts in Sofia point out that the move- ment of such a large body of troops is physi- cally impossible, since the three Bulgarian
roads available to the Germans could not have carried such a large volume of traffic in the time elapsed.
It is further pointed out¦. that it is impossible to! dispose 15 German divi-! sions on the Turkish fron- tier, where the Bulgarian army is already concen-. trated.
While mitary experts consi der that five divisions are en ough to cover the Greek frontier, Greek diplomatic circles of Sofia state that there is no news
yet of any German diplomatic
pressive
pressure on Athens. They presume this ail begin when Nazi divisions at ave on the Greek frontier.
