For showing a light by striking matches in a tele- phone kiosk, a naval off- cer was fined at Great Yarmouth.

A police officer said that follow ing a complaint from a coastguard he found Lieutenant Charles L. Carroll, R.N.R., "striking matches for a lady whe was telephoning." When he spoke to the two, the woman said she could not see to dial, and witness told her to dial "O" and ask for her number.

An acroplane was overhead, and he said that he expected to receive complaints about the light hom the Fighter Command.
