say of the Middies that they have one of, if not the strongest. European aldes in the Colony, and, to prove their worth, understand that they have chal lenged the Army (British Ranks) to a match in the near! future, which should be an in teresting game to watch.
At least three or four of their players should be in the Army side or given a trial.

BOXING
the;
WEDNESDAY evening at Shain- shuipo a very entertaining performance was given by Middlesex Regiment and the Com- bined Royal Artillery in the semi- finals of the Command Novices Team boxing competition, the former winning 24 points to 16.
The Gunners were unfortunate in that four of their team failed to turn up, but they would have had to win all four of these fights - to enter the final!
was
Best fight of the evening between Ple, Macey of the Mid- dlesex and Gor. Agar. Both men fought hard throughout the three rounds and were congratulated at the end of the fight by the referec on their gallant performance,
The last fight of the evening was also a good one, Pte. Byford of Middlesex giving a fine exhibi- tion of boxing. On this perform- ance he should make a fine third welterweight string for the Mid- dlesex opens.
