S. C. C. SHOULD DO WELL AGAINST RECREIO

By "Adrem"

TWO GOOD MATCHES ARE DOWN FOR DECISION IN

ENIOR DIVISION

THE OF CRICKET LEAGUE THIS AFTERNOON. AT COX'S ROAD KOWLOON CRICKET CLUB VILL MEET INDIAN RECREA- HON CLUB AND AT THE VAL- EY CIVIL SERVICE CRICKET LUB WILL BE OPPOSED BY ECREIO.

On the first meeting of KCC nd I.R.C., the former club had ttle difficulty in winning al- hough they had to scramble for he 139 runs set them. With the eams almost identical there is no eason why this result should not e repeated although, at the mu- hent of writing. the weather hows little inclination to clear in which case the wicket will be easy nd scoring probably slow but igh.

I expect a great struggle to be laged between C.S.C.C. and Re- relo, notwithstanding the fact hat the former team were badly eaten by Craigengower last yeek.

It is a peculiar fact that Civil ervice batsmen never appear to o as well when playing for Civil service as, they do when turning ut for other clubs but with Rich- rdson on which to anchor their opes and Griffiths and Perry in uch fine form just now, I feel that hey are just about due for runs. do not rate the Recreio attack igher than Craigengower's, while here should be little in the bat-

ng.

Recrelo will have an edge in the field and it is possible that this will decide the issue.

The game between University nd Craigengower has been post- oned.

None of the junior matches look be very interesting and K.C.C. win nd Craigengower should asily, with a draw the probable esult of the I.R.C.-University fix- ure.

DON'T MAKE THE KNEES RIGID

By BEST BALL

The golfer who stands ri- gidly to the ball, legs stiff from ankle to hip. is in no position to make a complete backstroke. Yet this is just the position many golfers wrongly assume when they want to drive the ball for that bit of extra distance.

In order to gain a wide, the kuee complete stroke, joints must be relaxed This allows a comfortable, easy backstroke with full cooper- ation between leg, arm and body action. Avoid bending the legs too much. This may very well lead to altering the constant position of the body. which must be maintained from start to finish. However, with the knees slightly bent and the legs relaxed, there is по restraining influence, or braking power put on the up- stroke.

The best game should be that on Club ground between Sing Tao and Middlesex and, in view of the past performance of Middlesex. when they met the first time in th League, a good and fast game is anticipated.

Sing Tao will be without the rvices of Lee Tin-sang and his place will be filled by Mak Shui- hon, otherwise the Teams will be! unenanged.

The Diehards" are also mak ing no changes in their side and with their forwards in shooting formi, Cheung Wing-choy wil! have a busy afternoon,

Recruit To Club

South China meet Club at Caroline Hill and on current formi should win easily but Club have' in the past upset them and the Caroline Hill team should not take things too easily.

Davis, formerly of Tientsin. will be playing for Club, while Forrow will return to the side.

Kwong Wah are confident of eliminating Kowloon in view of their consistent performances re- ; cently but Kowloon have always been at their best in the Shield competition and with their best team available should do well.

To-morrow's Games

To-morrow Combined Royal Artillery make their first ap- pearance in local football after an absence of many years when they meet Eastern.

Q

of

The Gunners are not sure their line up. while Eastern are only making one change. C. T. Tsao will be an absentee and his place will be filled by N. Z. Lee from Shanghai.

Al Causeway Bay, Police meet Navy in their postponed First Division encounter and in view of the present weakened state of the

Navy side, should win.
