R.A.F. MEETS & BEATS ITALY'S LATEST IN BOMBERS

A BRITISH FIGHTER PATROL has just fought an engagement with a formation of Italy's latest bombers over the southern Al- banian front, one enemy bomber being shot down in flames. The British patrol suffered no loss.

Headquarters of the R.A.F. in Greece ing its part in Britain's war effort. stated yesterday that a formation of our fighter aircraft on offensive patrol in south- ern Albania on Tuesday encountered a num- ber of enemy bombers Cantaz 107 and Breda 20 types.

Our aircraft at once attacked and shot down one enemy bomb- er in flames, while several others were damaged. The enemy forma- tions were broken up successfully and deflected from their target. All our aircraft returned safely.

New Dive-Bomber

The Cantaz 107 is one of Italy's latest bombers. Its range is re- puted to be 3,000 miles and its three engines give it a top speed of 230 miles an hour.

The Breda 20 is unlisted London but it is likely to be the new Breda "Picchiatelli" dive- bomber with which the Italian air force hoped to emulate the deeds of the German Junkers 87 dive bomber.

Its speed is 250 miles an hour and it has a bomb-carrying capa- th: city of 2,200 lbs., similar to Nazi atrcraft.—Reuter.
