When General Wavell's forces began the brilliant drive through the desert into Libya it was impera-| tive that they should take Sidi Barrani within five] days; had they not done so the drive would have been off.

Reason for this was hat. the troops had only five days' water supply.

This was revealed last night in a broadcast war commentary, from London by Major-General RJ. Colling,
