WITHOUT HENRY EARDLEY, SHANGHAI CHAMPION, ST. JOHN'S WENT DOWN BADLY TO KOWLOON CRICKET CLUB IN “B” DIVISION OF THE BADMINTON LEAGUE ON WEDNESDAY.

I say St. John's lost badly and this will pro- bably surprise many who noticed that the margin of victory was only one game. Actually, however,

K.C.C. won the match on the seventh game of the evening, although they lost the remaining two.

K.C.C. led 2-1 after the first round and 4-2 after the second.

There is no gainsaying the fact that it was Eardly's absence thal enabled K.C.C. to win.

KWANTI RACE MEETING

Navy have selected their Rugby Sevens team for the Tournament, on 15th and 22nd February, and they are as follows:

"A" Honeywill; Paul and Carter (Capt.); Bowden; Winter, Watson and King.

"B" Morahan (Capt.): McGill and Kennedy; Rutherford; Poole, Longmuir and Eager.

Practice matches have been ar- ranged, the "A" team meeting the Bank at 5.30 p.m.

Tuesday, February 11, and the “B” an Army side on the same day at 4.45 p.m. The presence of Naval Volun- teers in the Navy teams has caus- ed a surprise, as it was thought they were competing as a separate unit, and has also greatly streng- thened Navy's chances of succeed- ing Club as winners of the Blarney Stone Shield.

They have made sure of three heavy forwards to
