they know the British Admiralty code. for communicating with merchant shipping.

SHAKES TO DYNAMITE

London yesterday after- noon heard a new kind of "war-noise" that of ex- ploding dynamite, as de- molition squads of the Royal Engineers set about clearing up the damaged portions of the City of London, as a result of Sunday night's raid.

BRITAIN IS TO take immediate steps to deal with the danger from incendiary bombs following the big fire raid on London on Sun- day night.

The Prime Minister has approved the im- mediate establishment of a special organisa- tion, to be called the Fire Prevention Execu- tive, to secure prompt and vigorous action by various Government departments and au- thorities concerned in applying effective mea- sures of fire prevention in target areas.

The new organisation, will include responsible sentatives of all Government de- partments concerned with the many aspects of the problem of fire prevention, will work in close associating with the Minis- ter of Home Security.

There will be the fullest pos- sible delegation responsible to regions and to smaller areas within regions, and appropriate arrangements will be made for the supervision of work in Scot- land.

Apportioning Tasks

The new Committee will })- portion the task of fire-watching. The Ministry of Aircraft Pro- duction, the Ministry of Supply and the Admiralty are among those whose special responsibility will be for their own factories.

The Ministry of Home Security will assume special responsibility for all buildings, public private and industrial, which do not come

within the scope of other depart- ments, and the homes of the whole civilian population will come under its wing-Reuter.
