The British were stronger on every front and could supply all 'planes for all pilots in the | battle line but wanted more bombers above all.

In the past four months the output of air- craft was double that of last year. Fine types of American 'planes were coming in an in- |creasing flow some of their fighters were

equal to Britain's best.

Hitler was conspiring to domin- ate Europe and sat on a three- legged stool of, firstly, air super- iority. secondly, mechanised forces, and, thirdly, Fifth Column methods of panic and fear.

Britain had a sure defence in control 'of the seas and had of knocked away the first leg Hitler's stool.

Immense Hitler Effort

"We shall meet and overcome the danger by industry, enter. prite, endurance and fortitude. "It will be a hard struggle but the builders of aircraft have had difficult tasks before,

"All the machines we lost dur- ing the four months in which the battle has raged over Britain have been fully paid for by public contributions.

The Contest

"It is now a contest between the industrial forces of Britain and the resources and strength of the combined nations of Europe, con- queror and conquered.

"Against them are the British

certain that we shall destroy the enomy by our labours."

The German newspapers daily disclosed signs of the immense at-workers, dogged and willing, and tempt Hitler is making to bring out a huge air force in the Spring --sure and certain signs of fev- erish development of production.
