Mrs. Roosevelt Makes Recommendation To U.S.

BRITAIN REQUESTS

FINANCIAL AID

Britain has formally requested financial assistance from the United States, it was learned from a high official source, who refused to be quoted, in Washington yester- day.

The amount and ex- act nature of the re- quest would not be disclosed but it is hinted it could not be defined as an applica- tion for a "loan."- Reuter.

Convicted of damaging a win- dow, Tai Yiu-king, 50, married woman, was bound over by Mr Q. A. A. Macfadyen at Kowloon this morning.

Accused was alleged to have thrown stones at a show case, which belonged to her younger sister.

The police said the sisters had had quarrels in Canton. Accused was alleged to have broken the windows of her sister's shop several times.
