DOGS IN RAIDS
Compounds for dogs have been put up in Hyde Park, London- fenced-in enclosures Atted with stakes, chains and leads so that dogs, which may not be taken into public shelters, can be cared for during raids.
This move has brought the thanks of the police, who formerly had stray dogs on their hands when the "All clear" went, and" now the National A:R.P. for Ani- mals Committee are pressing the Olice of Works for more com- pounds in other public parks.
Shelters, too, are under consid- eration, but the greatest response in the appeal to care for pets dur- ing air raids has come from those householders who have put notices "You in their windows, saying:
