GREEKS CELEBRATE VICTORY

Streets Of Athens Beflagged, Marching Crowds Weight Of Attack Now Directed Against Elbasan

THE VICTORY OF Argyrokastron - was celebrated with tremendous enthusiasm throughout Greece last night following con- firmation of its occupation in a Greek com- munique earlier in the evening.

Flags were hung out in all Greek towns, and in the streets of Athens huge crowds cheered the King and General Metaxas and marched, singing the National Athem, tơ General Headquarters.

In answer to the crowd's shouts the King appeared on the balcony, followed by General Metaxas.

The hootera of all ships in Athens harbour 'mingled with the ringing of church 'bells, and. British soldiers marched through the streets arm In arm, to

be greeted everywhere with en- thusiastic cheers from the crowd,

General Metaxas has sent a message of congratulation to the Greek High Command.
