THE WEATHER ON SATURDAY WAS IDEAL FOR CRICKET AND WICKETS GENERALLY FAV- OURED BATSMEN. NEVERTHELESS SCORES WERE NOT UNDULY HIGH EXCEPT IN THE MATCH AT SOOKUNPOO BETWEEN ARMY AND HONG KONG CRICKET CLUB, WHERE BATSMEN ON BOTH SIDES LED THE BOWLERS A MERRY DANCE.
Baxter's all-round form at Pokfulum and a fine comeback by veteran J. L. Youngsaye were the chief features of Junior matches. Baxter made 78 runs and then polished off the University-innings when things were looking pretty grim for K.C.C., while Youngsaye made his first half-century for more years than I can trace in the records!
