THE WEATHER ON SATURDAY WAS IDEAL FOR CRICKET AND WICKETS GENERALLY FAV- OURED BATSMEN. NEVERTHELESS SCORES WERE NOT UNDULY HIGH EXCEPT IN THE MATCH AT SOOKUNPOO BETWEEN ARMY AND HONG KONG CRICKET CLUB, WHERE BATSMEN ON BOTH SIDES LED THE BOWLERS A MERRY DANCE.
Baxter's all-round form at Pokfulum and a fine comeback by veteran J. L. Youngsaye were the chief features of Junior matches. Baxter made 78 runs and then polished off the University innings when things were looking pretty grim for K.C.C., while Youngsaye made his first half-century for more years than I can trace in the records!; -
The Indians were one short.

H. L. Ozorio, who struck a good length and took 7 for 32, together with A. V. Gosano (30) and Willie Reed (27), were mainly respon sible for the home team's win, but
